Please join the Rotary Club of Surprise & Sun City West as we pack 25,000 meals for
local distribution by the Valley View Food Bank. Rotary “places service above self” and
is proud to partner with Meals of Hope, Valley View Food Bank, Ottawa University and
volunteers from our local community to serve those facing hunger and food insecurity.  
The Mission of Meals of Hope is “To inspire and empower communities to come
together to end hunger”. Meals of Hope has developed seven meals specifically designed
for the American palate with added vitamins, minerals and proteins to supplement an
unbalanced diet. This organization has more than 30,000 American volunteers and 18
full and part time staff members who assist Meals of Hope and the local communities
achieve their mission. Their meal packing events are designed to bring entire
communities together around the shared purpose of fighting hunger.
The Ottawa University Surprise Campus has provided the space,  and you can volunteer to do the packing, and
pay for the ingredients. The event is on October 25, 2025, 9:00 am to 1:00 PM, at
Ottawa University, Faith Arena Lobby, 14470 W. Tierra Buena Ln, Surprise, AZ.

We can use at least 100 volunteers participate. Meals of Hope provides everything else. The
Rotary Club is paying for the ingredients via its own Charitable Fund, donations and grant awards. The Meals of
Hope organization is supplying the ingredients, the equipment, and the event planning, to
ensure that the event goes off without a hitch!

 

Meals of Hope is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) that is committed to bringing people
together to fight the hunger epidemic. Founded in 2007, Meals of Hope has packed over
100 million meals that have been donated to communities in need across the nation.
